Value Greenslips FAQ:How can I pay for the greenslip? The payment for the greenslip can be made online through our website using any VISA or Master Card or with a PayPal account or BPAY. We do not accept payments through AMEX or at Australia Post. If you do not wish to pay online for your greenslip, you can choose the direct deposit payment option in order to make a direct deposit in to our Bank Account (details are listed on our website) The payments cannot be made in instalments. The full price of the greenslip needs to be paid before we can process the greenslip.
Have I paid twice for the greenslip? After the payment is made online for a greenslip, we send you an email notification with the receipt ID to acknowledge the greenslip payment. You may receive two emails regarding the greenslip payment as our greenslip payment gateway partners may send you their dedicated email too. So when a greenslip payment is made online, one email is sent from us and the other from St. George bank or PayPal. This does not mean that the payment has been made twice. These are two different emails sent to acknowledge the same payment.
When do I get the tax invoice of the greenslip for tax purposes? If you have paid for a greenslip for a business, you will receive by email the greenslip and that is the Tax Invoice we can also send you a Company Tax Invoice for a greenslip that was processed. How long does it take for the greenslip to be processed? After we receive the payments from you, we will process your greenslip within one business hour and it should then become activated with the RTA. Your vehicle may not be eligible for online registration:
There may be other reasons as to why your vehicle is not eligible for online registration. Please ring the RTA on 132213 for any registration queries. In all the above cases you will have to visit the RTA in person, with a hard copy of the greenslip, for the registration renewal.

Why have I been asked to pay extra over my original greenslip quote? Please be aware that quoted prices may change within the period of your quote. This is due to Insurers' prices changing continually throughout the year. It is possible that you may receive a quote, and then a few hours later the price may change before you have purchased your CTP Greenslip. Despite our best efforts to update your quote before you pay for your CTP Greenslips, there will be occasions when you will be asked to pay an additional amount. This can be due to differences in the timing of the prices changes on the Insurers' system and Value Greenslips receiving notification from the Insurers. Given that there is a statutory requirement that CTP Greenslips can only be sold for the authorised amount as published, you will be asked to pay the additional amount before your CTP can be processed. How long the greenslip quote is valid for? The greenslip quote is valid for 30 days from the Rego due date or three months from the date you received the quote whichever is shorter. Please be aware that quoted prices may change within the period of your quote, before proceeding to pay you can check that your quoted price is still valid by Clicking here
Can I get a greenslip for a brand new vehicle? Yes, we do greenslip Insurance for new vehicles which have not been registered before. Please Click here to Contact us for further details.
Where do I find the ‘Billing Number’? Your RTA Billing Number can be found on your "Certificate of Registration" in the following places:
If you do not have the above mentioned papers you may be able to get the billing number from the previous year’s greenslip policy. If you are unable to track where the billing number is you can fax your rego papers to (02) 8088 1271. We will update the billing number for you. Please include your quote number beginning with VGS before faxing the papers. If you do not have any papers with you, the billing number field can be updated with just 9999999. Please Note: We do not need the billing number to process the greenslip policy. We need the billing number to confirm from our end if your vehicle greenslip has been activated with the RTA.
Can I purchase a 6 month greenslip? Yes you can purchase a greenslip for 6 months. However a 6 month greenslip will not be accepted by the RTA if any or all of the following apply:
What happens when I have already paid for the greenslip, but it has not been processed or activated with RTA? There may be a few different reasons why a greenslip could not get processed. These include:
In all the above mentioned cases the greenslip quote may change and someone will contact you to resolve the issue. There are two resolutions to this. One is to pay the extra money if the correct quote is more than the quote sent initially. If the extra money is paid, the greenslip will then be processed and hence activated with RTA. If you do not wish to purchase a greenslip from us after you have already paid the money, your money will be fully refunded. This applies only if the vehicle is not registered at RTA with our issued greenslip.
What if the youngest driver does not have a license? Is he/she covered by the policy? Yes, we have quotes for all types of drivers. However the quotes and policies will vary depending on the driver’s age and other factors. If a Learner Driver is expected to obtain, their Provisional Permit i.e. P-Plates within the period of cover they will need to be included on the policy as the youngest driver.
What if I have a fleet of vehicles? Do I still need to get a quote online individually for all vehicles?

What do I do if my VIN number is not 17 digits long? If your VIN number is not 17 digits long all you need to do is enter your VIN number and then complete the 17 digits with asterisks (*).

If I have a heavy vehicle which has been brown slipped, can I have a 6 month greenslip? Yes, any heavy vehicle over 4.5 tonnes which is 3 months or more out of registration may purchase a 6 month greenslip.
If my registration is cancelled do I get a greenslip refund? Normally when a registration is cancelled with the RTA, greenslips are refunded on a pro rata basis, less a small administration fee. We can organise a refund once you have faxed (02) 8088 1271 or emailed us by Clicking here & sending a copy of the ‘Confirmation of Cancelled Registration’ letter from the RTA. |
